A training corner has been provided at our project partner AUT-TECH since November 2019 to promote an understanding for the assembly process. In the training itself, work is performed with a CAD
model. The entire assembly is observed with a CAD Viewer, in which all parts can be switched on or off separately.
The drill holes for screws and aligning pins are marked in different colors to tell them apart. The depth and diameter of the holes and pins on the part must be measured with a caliper gauge and
written down. After that, the trainee searches for the required parts in storage. Errors due to incorrect measurements or overlooked holes occur frequently, especially with measurements of the
drill holes. Therefore, it is important that trainees exactly observe the entire assembly as well as the individual parts in the CAD Viewer.
